Tile + Stone Source – the largest tile importer in Alberta – is looking for a dedicated Product and Quality Control Coordinator to join our growing team! This role is essential to ensuring we provide the best products to our customers while maintaining high-quality standards across all product lines. We are seeking someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and experience in both product management and quality assurance.
What does this role entail?
As a Product and Quality Control Coordinator, you will oversee product quality, manage product documentation, and support the product team in maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and performance. You will also ensure clearance items are well-merchandised and continue to uphold the standards expected across all our products. Part of your responsibilities will include working directly in the warehouse to check on product quality, manage stock, and maintain the condition of the inventory.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Quality Control: Monitor and inspect product quality at various stages of the supply chain, both in the warehouse and at supplier facilities, to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Product Documentation: Maintain accurate records of product specifications, certifications, and quality checks.
- Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to verify product details, resolve quality concerns, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Product Analysis: Collaborate with the pricing and product teams to determine pricing structures while maintaining quality consistency.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and sales teams to ensure all product information is up-to-date and communicated effectively.
- Clearance Item Merchandising: Ensure clearance items are properly organized, displayed, and promoted within the store to maximize visibility and sales.
- Warehouse Oversight: Regularly visit the warehouse to monitor product conditions, check for damages, and maintain stock organization.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes for continuous improvement in product quality, monitoring standards, and resolving quality-related issues.
- Training Support: Assist in educating the sales and customer service teams on product quality, specifications, and clearance items to ensure accurate information is provided to customers.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
- Quality Control Expertise: Knowledge of quality assurance practices, including inspection, testing, and product analysis.
- Attention to Detail: An eye for catching product defects or inconsistencies before they reach customers.
- Warehouse Experience: Comfortable working in the warehouse to oversee product quality, organization, and stock management.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, for liaising with suppliers, teams, and customers.
- Education: Post-Secondary education in Business, Quality Assurance, Product Management, or a related field.
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced skills with Excel for tracking product data, analysis, and reporting.
- Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive approach to resolving product-related issues and enhancing product quality.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate across departments to ensure product quality and efficient processes.
